Beechworth, Vic
We’ve worked with iDwala Director, George Devenish, and his team on a number of exciting sporting facility upgrades, and the Indoor Cricket Nets at Baarmutha Reserve in Beechworth is no exception.
Due to an increase in participation at Beechworth Cricket Club, Indigo Shire Council partnered with iDwala to design and construct a new four-lane cricket practice facility with synthetic turf. This replaced the old nets, which were no longer up to Cricket Australia’s Community Cricket Facility Guidelines.
Having worked with us on similar projects in the past, iDwala trusted us to design and construct the shed for this facility. The iDwala team worked closely with All Sheds Project & Sales Manager, Nick, and Sales Consultant, Damien, to design a structure that met the needs of Indigo Shire, the club, and Cricket Australia’s requirements.
We constructed a 38m-long x 16.4m-wide x 4m-high, 5-bay shed in Colorbond Deep Ocean with a Surfmist gable roof. The shed was built with three walls, leaving one side of the structure completely open. On the opposite side, wall vents were installed to allow air to pass through, preventing pressure buildup that could put stress on the structure. A personal access door and chain-operated roller door were added at the back of the shed to allow easy access without interrupting practice sessions.
George commented on the speed and high quality of the build. “When the shed went up, it went up in what I believe was record time and extremely good quality,” he said. “From our perspective, as the main contractor working with All Sheds, we can’t ask for more.”
Feedback from Indigo Shire and the Beechworth Cricket Club has been overwhelmingly positive. The new facility is an impressive addition to Baarmutha Reserve and an asset to Beechworth and surrounding regional communities.
We’re proud to continue our partnership with iDwala to deliver high-quality sporting facilities to communities throughout Victoria.
